In the community of Rathwell Landing — where Valecraft Homes is currently offering both two-storey homes and bungalows — the benefits of suburban living meet the charms of country life. It’s a community, says the company’s director of sales and marketing, where the homes cater to every life stage.
“Whether it’s families or downsizers, our beautifully designed homes are functional, utilizing space to the utmost and featuring a range of floor plans, including open concept for those looking for innovation and airiness, and more compartmentalized options for those who want something more traditional,” says Frank Nieuwkoop of Valecraft’s Rathwell Landing offerings. “While the community is a suburb with lots of green space, it’s also close to all the conveniences you need.”
Situated on the outskirts of Kanata in the larger, well-established community of Stittsville with its small one-of-a-kind shops, big box retailers, restaurants and bars, Rathwell Landing offers walking trails, spaces for outdoor recreation such as a shaded picnic area, playgrounds and even fenced dog play areas. Nieuwkoop says while it already features so much, the area is continuing to expand.
“The west end of Stittsville is still coming into its own so we’re expecting even more amenities,” he says. “You’re also in close proximity to the Canadian Tire Centre to watch a Senators game or concert, and have great access to transit too.”
With more than half of the homes sold, Valecraft is still offering luxurious lots with lookout windows, walkout basements, or situated next to a soon-to-be park. Varying floor plans and designs among the offered models, allow the homes to truly cater to a range of buyers, says Nieuwkoop.
The McCaslin single home
For example, The McCaslin model has a spacious family room halfway up the stairs — that’s a perfect play area or gaming room for children, and The Nash has a large open-concept kitchen with a two-faced fireplace. The two-storey single family homes range from 1,900 to 3,205 sq. ft. Bungalows, meanwhile, incorporate a single- or double-car garage as well as large master bedrooms with walk-in closets and an open concept main living area with full-brick or stone exteriors.
“We can talk about quality, but these homes really show it,” says Nieuwkoop. “We really focus on the design of the kitchens and living rooms since this is where families gather and enjoy their time together. We have a large variety of beautiful standard options to choose from, and offer a $10,000 decor bonus to use towards customizing your dream home.”
