Don’t worry, we’re here to help! Whether you live in one of our townhomes, single-family properties or otherwise, there’s plenty to see and do in your neighbourhood amidst all that fluffy white stuff falling outside. Let’s take a look at the events for the month of February in the Ottawa area.

Winterlude 2019, Feb 1-18

Ice sculptures, hot chocolate and activities galore, oh my! Ottawa’s biggest celebration of winter is back once again with this year’s iteration of the beloved Winterlude festival. Take a romantic skate along the Rideau Canal, play in the Ice-Cade to try your chance at classic carnival games, stop by the Ottawa Farmer’s Winter Market at Lansdowne Park, and much more. With free shuttle bus service between major festival sites and a wide range of food, beverage and entertainment options, it’s a veritable winter wonderland that you won’t want to miss. With most of the events happening in the downtown core, it’s relatively easy to find your way there via OC Transpo from Valecraft communities such as Aviation Private and Deerfield Village.

Winter Brewfest, Feb 15-16

Want to wet your whistle with a new favourite craft beer? Winter Brewfest is your ticket to new tastes and experiences. Now in its fifth year, this celebration of good food and drink brings out the best of local microbrewery offerings for you to sample. Of course, there’s also a large selection of beer-inspired local cuisine to sink your teeth into. To summarize, there are over 100 craft beers on offer, dances around a bonfire, local DJs blasting their tunes, and tons of gourmet dishes. Sounds like a win-win to us!

Magic of MAJINX, Feb 18

Live in one of our Aviation Private homes and want to see a really unique show? Pop on over to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum on Family Day to see the Magic of MAJINX, a creative team of illusionists who specialize in boggling the mind and delivering memorable performances. This bilingual magic show lasts an hour and tickets start at just a few dollars. Don’t forget as well that the museum itself offers a fun day out for visitors of all ages, so why not turn it into a day trip and make the most of it? (Note: Museum admission is separate)
